On January 16, 2004, the Vaughan Health Care Foundation was incorporated under the Ontario Corporations Act as a not for profit corporation in Ontario. On March 5, 2004, the Foundation was granted tax-exempt status as a registered charity from the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, under the Federal Income Tax Act. The objects of the Foundation are:

To receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply all or part of the principal and income therefrom, from time to time, for, or in respect of, establishing and/or supporting health care facilities and services in the City of Vaughan and other charitable organizations, that are registered charities under the Income Tax Act (Canada), which provide health care facilities or services in the Province of Ontario.

To undertake research for the benefit of the public to determine how to best meet the health care needs of the residents of the City of Vaughan.

The Letters Patent of Incorporation forms Appendix 7a and the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency Notification of Registration for the Foundation is contained in Appendix 7b.
